Israel released Syrian convict

According to the Lebanese media, Israel amnestied Sadqi Al-Maqt, Syrian convict, from the jail.

Sadqi Al-Maqt was sentenced to 11 years in 2015 when he was charged with being a Syrian spy in his home region – Golan Heights occupied by Israel.

Sadqi al-Maqt was arrested on charges with several count of espionage in the past 15 years. He is a Syrian national hero for being imprisoned by Israel and he have been mentioned on the Syrian TV every week since he was arrested.

Israel has also announced the amnesty for Golan Heights resident Amal Abu Saleh who was sentenced for killing a Syrian who went through the Syrian-Israeli borderline and was expected to be imprisoned until 2023.
