Turkey and Russia will not expand the safe zone in Syria

Russian Special Presidential Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev stated that the safe zone in the North of Syria would not be expanded.

Answering the additional questions, Mr. Lavrentyev pointed out that both Presidents Putin and Erdogan find the zone in its present borders as the only option.

The Special Presidential Envoy added that in spite of the provocations the safe zone condition is quite stable and the joint efforts of Turkey and Russia give an excellent result.

The 14th round of Syria talks between Russia, Iran and Turkey has started today in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan.
