Bashar al-Assad, the President of Syria, has stated that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) had fabricated the report over the gas attack near Damascus last year because of the US pressure.
Al-Assad has brought an accusation during the interview to Italian TV-channel Rai News 24 after the OPCW head Fernando Arias had stated that the March report on the usage of chlorine gas in Douma had been confirmed again.
The Douma incident, Fernando Arias added, was one of the nine attacks of such kind currently being under the new OPCW Investigation and Identification Team inquiry.
The US, the UK and France accused Syria of the attacks and undertook air strikes. Syria denies responsibility, insisting it is not involved.
