Second round of Syrian constitutional talks ends without consensus

United Nations Special Envoy Geir Pedersen

UN Special Envoy Geir Pedersen said that second round of Syrian constitution negotiations finished without meeting of the delegates’ group who were expected to work on the constitution project.

The reason for this delay is that Syrian government and opposition were not able to set up agenda for the talks. UN offered their help in reaching consensus but it wasn’t successful.

The conversation is meant to be a stepping stone of the long way to political stabilization in Syria.
