Tension Increases between Turkish and Kurdish Troops on Syrian Border

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said yesterday that Turkish troops would launch an offensive against the Kurds in the city of Tell Rifaat in Aleppo province and in the town of Tell Abyad in Raqqa governorate. Turkish troops have already begun dismantling the border walls on the border near the town Tell Abyad. The Kurds in turn sent reinforcements to the Syrian-Turkish border which at the same time was patrolled by coalition drones.

The artillery of the Turkish army also fired at positions of the Kurds in the city of Tell Rifaat and in the settlement of Ayn Daqnah, as well as in the Menagh air base area south of the city of Azaz (Aleppo gov.).

In the last 24 hours, the artillery of the Syrian militia continued shelling the militants in the north and north-west of the province of Hama. Columns with reinforcements of the Syrian Arab Army continue to arrive on the front line to prepare for the upcoming operation against the militants.

The militants attacked the Hamadaniyah district in the city of Aleppo. As a result, one civilian died. It is reported that the SAA has returned fire.
