The SAA repels new attacks by ISIS, the government forces continue their offensive on Abu Kamal

Over the last day in the province of Deir Ezzor, the SAA has repelled an attack by ISIS destroying more than 15 terrorists and several SVBIEDs. In addition, the government forces begun an offensive on Abu Kamal city.

Yesterday, the top military command appointed major-general Muhammad Haddur as commander-in-chief of all units of the Syrian Arab army in Deir Ezzor province.

In the same province, after the huge reinforcements of the SDF arrived at the front line, the assault of the eastern bank of the Euphrates River begun. As a result of the operation, the Al-Bussaira, al-Han and as-Sabhna settlements were captured from ISIS.

Also, Syrian aircraft conducted several airstrikes on the militants’ positions in Harasta, Jobar and Ayn Tarma, as well as in the cities of az-Zakiria and Hawsh Davahira in East Ghouta. Also, in Hama province, the SAA regained control over the Umm-Hazaim village and shelled Tahrir al-Sham positions in the Maaracba settlement. Besides, the government forces recaptured Balil village, east of Umm Hazaim, from the Jaysh al-Izza militants, though after a while the militants returned control over the village.

The militants, in turn, repulsed an SAA attack near the Tel al-Baradeya height, west of Damascus, and also shelled the following Damascus districts: Dahiyat al-Asad, Duvelia, as well as the old town and al-Jaramana district.
