Over the past day, Syrian troops, supported by Russian aviation, continued the operation against the militants north-west of the provincial capital Hama and liberated the next strategic city of Qalaat al-Madiq, as well as the settlement of Al-Tuwaynah, Huwayjat as-Sallah, Ash-Sharia, Bab al-Taqa, Jubb Suleiman, Tall-Huwash, Kirkat and Tall al-Sahr. To complete the first phase of the CAA operation, it remains to repel the enemy from Al-Habbit, located in the southwest of Idlib province.
During the fighting for Qalaat al-Madiq, the fighters of the National Liberation Front managed to destroy two government tanks, a truck and a rocket launcher. Militants also reported that they killed several Syrian militias. Militants “Tahrir ash-Sham”, in turn, destroyed the Syrian tank in the area of the settlement.
Despite recent talk of creating a buffer zone in the north of Aleppo, Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan promised to shortly recapture the city of Manbij from Kurdish troops.
