Yesterday morning, Syrian troops resumed their operation against terrorists in the north-east of the province of As-Suwayda and, as a result of the assault, moved forward 3 km in the area of the Qaa al-Banat Hill. After, the SAA tried to break through the main line of defense of the IS, but the terrorists furnished resistance.
Meanwhile, clashes between the government forces and the Kurdish law enforcement forces took place in the city of Al-Qamishly in the north of the province of Hasaka. According to various sources, 11-13 Syrian soldiers and 7 Kurdish fighters were killed during the fighting. Versions about the causes of bloodshed also vary. Perhaps, the Kurds opened fire because of the fact that the Syrian soldiers refused to let the US convoy into the city.
Yesterday, the Russian Air Forces and the Syrian Air Forces organized a raid against militants in the south of the province of Idlib and in the north of the province of Hama. In total, the aviation launched more than 70 air strikes against the enemy targets. What is more, militants’ positions were shelling by the Syrian artillery during the whole day. Military sources report that the ground operation of the Syrian troops will begin in the coming days.
Militants, in turn, brought down fire on the government territories in the city of Suqaylabiyah and the settlement of As-Safsafiyah, located north-west of the city of Hama, resulting in 7 people injured.
