Syrian Army Changes Plan for Operation Against Militants in North-East of Syria

Change of plans: Syrian Army to target three major areas in northwest Syria/almasdarnews

Over the past day, terrorists surrounded on the Al-Safa volcanic plateau in the province of As-Suwayda were forced to take extreme measures, namely, to start the dialogue with the Syrian authorities. The ISIS fighters offered SAA to give up the local residents of the province, who were taken as prisoners, in exchange for the unhindered withdrawal of their troops to the west of the province of Deir Ezzor.

Meanwhile, the Syrian army has redefined the objectives of the first phase of the operation against militants in the northwest of the Syrian Arab Republic. This is the complete liberation of the northern part of the province of Latakia, the Al-Ghab plain in the north-west of the province of Hama, as well as the environs of the city of Abu Ad-Duhur in the east of the province of Idlib.

“Tahrir al-Sham” fighters, in turn, quite unexpectedly attacked their allies from the “Ansar Al-Sham” group in the Ayn Bidah area in the north of Latakia province. According to opposition activists, the “Tahrir al-Sham” fighters wanted to capture weapons. There is also information that the attack was due to the intentions of the “Ansar Al-Sham” to join the “Ahrar al-Sham” group, the opponents of the HTS.
