Syrian Arab Army Continues to Prepare for Operation Against Islamic State in As-Suwayda

Military reinforcements of the government troops arrived to the east of As-Suwayda

Military reinforcements of the SAA are arriving in the province of As-Suwayda to launch a military operation against ISIS’ cells. The Syrian Air Force conducted airstrikes the positions of terrorists in the desert in the northeast of the province. It is reported that about 200 ex-militants from “Shabab al-Sunnah” and “Desert Commando Brigade” will participate on the side of the Syrian Army in the offensive against IS.

IS executed a hostage who was abducted 10 days ago. As well as ISIS kidnapped 14 Druze women in As-Suwayda Governorate; these women are still missing.

Fighting continues between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the IS in the vicinity of the village of Al-Shaafah in Deir Ezzor province. It was also reported that the terrorists attacked Syrian Army’ positions in the settlement of Sayyal.

The SAA inflicted artillery strikes on the settlements Arbain, Zakat, Janabra, Zayzun and Zayra in Hama governorate. Meanwhile, militants of the Free Syrian Army arrested about 45 potential “collaborators”.

Yesterday, the head of Masyaf’s Scientific Research and Studies Center Aziz Asbar was killed  in an IED attack in the city of Masyaf in Hama province.
