Over the past day, militants of the “Jaysh al-Islam” group from the city of Duma (Eastern Ghouta, Damascus gov.), with the mediation of the Russian side, reached an agreement with the Syrian authorities. The first buses with wounded members of the group have already gone to the city of Jarablus (Aleppo gov.). Under the terms of the treaty, militants will release the previously captured SAA soldiers and Syrians, and the Russian military will soon begin installing humanitarian corridors in the Duma.
After the operation in Eastern Ghouta, the Syrian army switched its attention to militants in the province of Daraa and in the Eastern Qalamoun Mountains (Damascus gov.). Yesterday, government delegations were sent to the city of Eastern Qalamoun, which suggested local militants to accept the agreement with the authorities and be evacuated to the north of Syria. In the event of a failure, the SAA and the Russian Federation Air Forces are ready to begin the liberation operation of the region.
Meanwhile, in the provinces of Idlib and Aleppo, the “Tahrir al-Sham” and the “Jabhat Tahrir Syria” groups have declared an armistice for an indefinite period. During this period, the representatives of the groups will try to reach a consensus for the establishment of a lasting peace. The previous attempt to improve relations was broken down on the second day.
