Syrian Army began yesterday morning with the assault on the positions of the Islamic State in the central part of the province of Hama. As a result, the troops managed to liberate from terrorists the chain of hills north of Khanafis village, eliminating at least 5 members of the terrorist group.
Meanwhile, in the northwest of the province of Aleppo, Turkish forces and FSA fighters continued a powerful shelling of the Kurdish positions from several directions. For the whole day, the troops of the operation “Olive Branch” moved a little further into the Afrin Canton from the west, capturing from the Kurds the settlements of Khalil, Sadi Ushaghi, and Zatin.
The Turkish convoy with military equipment, which had arrived the day before to the west of the province of Aleppo, was attacked last night. As a result of a powerful explosion near the city of Al-Atarib, several Turkish vehicles were destroyed and damaged. It is also reported that at least one Turkish soldier died. Initially, Ankara accused the Kurdish organizations in convoy attack, but later ISIS claimed responsibility.
