Yesterday morning, militants from several groups have organized a powerful counter-offensive in the southeast of the province of Idlib. During the first hours of the attack, they have managed to capture the city of Khuwayn and a number of settlements in its vicinity. In addition, militants have taken more than 20 SAA soldiers as prisoners, and have destroyed several units of government technics.
In connection with this, the Russian Air Forces and the Syrian Air Forces have been attacking the positions of enemies all day long, and the Syrian army had to immediately transfer its troops from the Abu ad Duhur airbase to the combat zone.
Thus, SAA has halted the enemy attack and has regained control over several settlements and cities in the south-east of the province of Idlib. It is reported that during the clashes militants have lost at least 4 commanders.
Meanwhile, units of Syrian troops in the south of the province of Aleppo have continued to move towards the Abu ad Duhur base from the town of Khanasir and have liberated several settlements from militants.
